About Special Notes
The administrator can customize items (in the BackOffice) to have modifiers or attributes that automatically populate when ringing out an item. Nevertheless, your staff may need to add a custom note to an item, which is possible using the note feature in the item details popup window.
How to Add a Special Note to an Item
- First, you'll need to add the item to the cart.
- Tap on the item in the cart and then tap Special Notes in the left menu of the item details popup window.
- Enter your custom note using the built-in keyboard.
- Tap Update Item.
The special note will be displayed below the item in the cart and on the printed receipt.
Example: If the customer wants to order a coffee and wants it extra hot, you can ring in the coffee and add a note to the item in the cart and type "extra hot."
How to Delete a Special Note
To remove a special note from an item in the cart:
- Tap on the item in the cart.
- Tap Special Notes in the left menu.
- Delete the text in the special note field area.
- Tap Update Item.
